Speaker 2:But that's eco-nice. Y'all call it a moment.
Speaker 1:I call it life. One day, when the light is glowing, I'll be in the castle cold.
Speaker 2:Alright, hey everybody, good morning. Mr Newton here, episode 6 of our Awesome Teacher Talk podcast and I have a couple friends here with me. This is volume 2 of Student Voices and we're nearing the end of the school year and we talk about what we want to be when we grow up, what we're passionate about, and I have two wonderful people here who are going to talk about what they want to do when they grow up and what they're passionate about and, as I've always said throughout the school year, is giving them a voice student voices that's kind of the title of today's podcast. So I have miss Hannah and miss Ellie talking about what they love, what they're passionate about, and once again they blew it out of the water and you'll hear what they have to say, what they love, what they're passionate about. But as a teacher, I think it's super important to teach your young students to have a voice in our big and scary world. But I think, as the teacher, I try to make it that it's not big and scary and just go out there and reach your dreams, and I'm blessed to have them as my students. So after the break we'll hear from one of them we'll surprise you who on what they're passionate about, so we'll see you after the break. All right?
Speaker 2:Hey, friends, we are back with Student Voices, volume 2, episode 6, on Teacher Talk with Mr Newton, and our first guest is Miss Ellie. Yes, miss Ellie is back. She loved podcasting the first time around, so she is going to talk about a new subject that she loves and she's passionate about, and then we'll have our second guest after Miss Ellie. So good morning, miss Ellie. What are we going to talk about? A new subject that she loves and she's passionate about, and then we'll have our second guest after Miss Ellie. So good morning, miss Ellie. What are we going to talk about today?
Speaker 3:Hello everyone and welcome back to Life as an Athlete. I'm Ellie Leroy, I'm 11 years old and I play soccer. Today, I'll be talking about women's soccer, men's soccer and if men are allowed to play against women's teams. I feel this will be a very exciting topic to talk about because I bet many of you have questions like oh, are men's teams allowed to play against women's teams or are women's teams allowed to play against men's teams? Well, in a few moments I'll be answering all your questions.
Speaker 3:My first topic I'd like to talk about is women's soccer. My opinion, women's soccer is super, super fascinating because you're always on the edge of your seat saying what's next, and I also feel that in men's soccer they play a little more dirty, and I feel that in women's soccer you don't have to worry about people getting injured too much and you can just enjoy a nice, amazing game or practice. I feel this is super exciting for soccer finals because they are not worried about time getting paused because of an injury timeout or if there's a fight in the middle of the game. You can just enjoy a nice soccer game and also it's played by women. The second topic I'd like to go over is men's soccer, even though, I said earlier, men play a little more dirty than women. Even though I said earlier, men play a little more dirty than women. It's also very, very fun to watch men play, but when it's a clean game, because men do different skills and they like to show off, because they want to show that they are cool in some way, so that they can show that they have the best skills and that they can do amazing things in the game than just pass the ball. I also feel that in men's, games are super exciting because they're super exciting to watch, because when they score, they do super cool tricks while scoring. Maybe you've heard of a bicycle trick, or maybe a scorpion. Those moves are super cool and followed by a super cool celebration by the men.
Speaker 3:My final topic I'd like to talk about is do men, are men, allowed to play against women's teams? The final topic I'd like to talk about is do men, are men allowed to play against women's teams? The answer is yes. Professional men's teams are allowed to play against professional women's teams, but only for fun. It's not allowed to count, as an actual game can be counted out of scrimmage, and scrimmage is basically like a practice but a game, so it's like a game, but it's not counted as a game. It's basically just a practice game.
Speaker 3:Fun fact a boys 2010 team played against a professional women's team. Isn't that so crazy? The only reason why these two were an even matchup is because at this age the boys are around 13 to 14, and they're pretty much even height and weight to professional grown women in soccer. So the match is pretty even. And guess what? They tied two to two. I think this is awesome. I think that it's awesome that some men teams and women teams can play against each other to see how each other has improved throughout the year. Again, I talked about women's soccer, men's soccer and our men teams. A lot of play against women's teams. Again, I'm Ellie Lyle. Thanks for listening. I'll catch you on the next episode. Bye.
Speaker 2:Once again, another awesome podcast, and just listening to Ellie's words of wisdom about something that she loves, which is soccer and being an athlete and yes, friends, she's a pretty awesome athlete wisdom about something that she loves, which is soccer and being an athlete and, yes, friends, she, she's a pretty awesome athlete. So, um, after the next break, we're going to hear from our final guest and she has something she loves and she's passionate about, which she'll talk about shortly. All right, friends, we are back and our next podcaster. She is pretty awesome. She's going to talk about something that she loves, which I won't share the secret, because she loves what she does. She's really good at what she does, and I will let her talk about what she's gonna talk about. So, without further ado, here's Miss Hannah.
Speaker 3:Hello everyone, my name is Hannah, I'm 10 years old and I'm in fifth grade, and I'm going to be talking all about life as a volleyball player. Yeah, life as a volleyball player.
Speaker 3:So volleyball is a really fascinating sport and there's three basic things that you need to know to become a great volleyball player. The first thing that is really important is stretching. Before you start the wonderful journey of volleyball, something that you really need to do is stretch. Stretching helps loosen up the muscles that are in your legs, in your arms, in your hands, anywhere that can help you to resist getting injured and getting hurt, because that's really important.
Speaker 3:So, it'll help It'll. The other thing that you need to do to become a great volleyball player is practice. There's a saying that practice makes perfect but in volleyball. You have to put that into action, so practice is very important, and you definitely need to practice to become a great volleyball player. That's all I have for you today, thank you.
Speaker 2:I love it. Another great job by another very articulate, awesome, wonderful student of mine. So student voices them just talking about what they love and what they do and what they want to be when they grow up. So after the last break we'll have a group of three young ladies talking about something fun, different and what they're really good at. So we'll catch you in the final break. All right, we are back with our final three yes, three people, friends, and I was commenting that my students know 90s music that's kind of cool, that's pretty impressive. They weren't even born in the 90s music. That's kind of cool, that's pretty impressive. They weren't even born in the 90s. So, anyways, I have three wonderful young ladies here talking about entertainment and TV and movies and just things that they love, things that they enjoy. So I'm going to turn it over to them for our final segment on episode six, student Voices, and it looks like Miss Allie is first. So good morning, miss Allie.
